Grounded in a commitment to community, Jerrell Mason serves as Community Impact Program Director at the Oishei Foundation, leading work across the Joy, Restoration, Resilience and Individual Power focus areas of the Community Power-Building Strategic Framework. In this role, he works alongside organizations and partners across Buffalo’s East Side to strengthen connections, focus on healing, expand opportunity, and support individuals in shaping their own futures.
Jerrell brings leadership experience across workforce development, behavioral health, and higher education. His work has focused on building pathways to opportunity, strengthening community partnerships, and connecting people to the resources and relationships that support long-term success.
Deeply rooted in Buffalo’s East Side, Jerrell approaches his work with authenticity, humility, and a belief in the power of collaboration. He is driven by a commitment to listening, building trust, and creating spaces where individuals and communities can thrive.
The East Side inspires me by reminding me of the history of my people, the black community. It makes me proud to say I am from Buffalo because of its resilience to continue to grow and elevate. The East Side community sticks together and supports each other. There is so much rich history in Buffalo.
