Allison Geddes, MSW
Allison joined the foundation in 2018, first serving as an intern then becoming a Community Impact Coordinator with Mobile Safety-Net Team. Her specialties include facilitative leadership, coalition building, and trauma-informed and human-rights-centered practice.
Originally from Long Island, Allison moved to Buffalo in 2010 to study at the University at Buffalo. She earned a BA in Health Sciences and a Master’s of Social Work. On track to complete the Open Buffalo Emerging Leaders Program in the fall of 2024, Allison has a passion for addressing inequitable systems that impact social determinants of health.
Collective liberation is the goal in our work to build racial equity. Because systems of oppression are interconnected, working in solidarity with our neighbors, communities, and institutions is essential for creating a just and equitable world for everyone. Addressing inequity is not about individual gain — it’s about transforming oppressive systems and structures into an ecosystem where all have an opportunity to thrive.
