Oishei Transitions
With gratitude to Larry Cook
September 9, 2024
Lawrence H Cook II (Larry), Senior Vice President of Programs at The John R. Oishei Foundation, has decided to step away from his role to explore a new direction in his career. We’re confident that his legacy of leadership, mentorship, and unwavering commitment to Western New York will continue to inspire.
Larry joined the Oishei Foundation in 2008, bringing with him years of experience in the nonprofit realm and a passion for serving and supporting this region through partnership with phenomenal nonprofit leaders and organizations, while collaborating with representatives in the academic, corporate, foundation and governmental arenas.
Larry expressed that one of his proudest achievements during his tenure was leading the Oishei Foundation’s Mobile Safety-Net Team (MSNT) initiative which began in 2009 as the Foundation’s response to the crisis of the Great Recession. The MSNT was a group of dynamic young professionals whose aim was to address community concerns and build networks of support that continue through the coalitions that were formed.
As we bid farewell to Larry, we are filled with gratitude for his years of service, camaraderie, and desire to make our shared community a better place for all. Thank you, Larry, for your dedication, your leadership, and most importantly, your heart. You will be missed.
