A member of the Foundation's Community Impact team, this senior-level role leads our work in the Organizational Power focus area, supporting nonprofit and grassroots organizations as they strengthen their infrastructure and increase their capacity to sustain and build power that is rooted in community. The ideal candidate is a seasoned systems thinker and strategist who understands how nonprofit leadership development, equitable resources, narrative change, and network-building all contribute to durable, equitable change.
This is a great fit for someone who’s led community development, nonprofit growth, philanthropy, or social justice—and is ready to bring that experience into a collaborative, values-driven team focused on shifting systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the Foundation’s strategy for building Organizational Power in the nonprofit ecosystem, including technical assistance, capacity building, and leadership development.
- Design and manage initiatives to support organizational sustainability, adaptability, and effectiveness.
- Partner with other funders, capacity-building providers, and nonprofit leaders to identify systemic gaps and co-create solutions.
- Build authentic relationships with nonprofit leaders, coalitions, and community stakeholders.
- Represent the Foundation in collaborative efforts that strengthen the ecosystem of support for nonprofits across Western New York.
Who You Are
You’re a senior leader with deep experience in nonprofit or philanthropic strategy, organizational development, or capacity building. You understand what it takes for organizations to grow, adapt, and lead transformative change, and you know how to support them with humility, trust, and rigor. You thrive in collaborative environments, navigate complexity with ease, and bring a systems lens to your work.

Compensation & Benefits:
Salary range: $130,000 to $155,000 (commensurate with experience)
Exceptional Benefits including including 100% employer-paid health, dental, and vision insurance and 401k with a 7% match
This position is based in Buffalo, NY. The successful candidate is expected to work primarily from the Foundation’s office, with flex-time availability based on the requirements of the specific work performed.
