Esther Annan serves the Oishei Foundation as a program officer. She assists in developing, managing, and evaluating a portfolio of grants and initiatives, with a special focus on health and human services. She works directly with Foundation’s other program officers to develop relationships with those in the nonprofit community and with the Foundation’s community partners.
Prior to joining the Oishei Foundation, Ms. Annan served as program director for Say Yes to Education, Inc - Buffalo Chapter where she developed a coordinated continuum of school-based services to support students. She also managed relationships with partner organizations and coordinated the research and design of a data system to better identify and address student social-emotional, behavioral, health, wellness, and academic needs. Ms. Annan has also served as a juvenile justice counselor/detention social worker with the Erie County Department of Social Services. Her past career also includes positions with Catholic Charities, Hopevale, and UB’s Trio Programs.
Ms. Annan is also very involved in her community, serving as former Board Chair for Young Audiences of Western New York, as a member of the Community Foundation for Greater Buffalo’s Communities of Giving Legacy Initiative and in various positions with Erie County Chapter of The Links, Inc. and Eureka Grand Chapter, Prince Hall Order Eastern Star, State of New York. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology and a Master of Social Work, both from the State University of New York at Buffalo and is a Licensed Masters Social Worker (LMSW).
