The John R. Oishei Foundation has named Geoffrey Pritchard, CPA, as Chief Financial & Impact Investment Officer for Western New York’s most comprehensive private foundation. In addition to supervising all accounting and financial activities and overseeing office operations and administration, Pritchard will also build out an impact investment strategy and financial support strategies for non-profits as part of the Foundation’s beyond grantmaking focus. Pritchard starts in his new role on September 6.
Pritchard brings extensive experience in budgeting, long- and short-term financial projections and modeling, revenue generation strategies, and audit services. He most recently served as Chief Financial Officer with the Buffalo Public Schools where he led a staff of 60 in the Finance Department, overseeing budget, revenue, grants, accounting, payroll, accounts payable, audit, and purchasing functions. He served as a member of the Superintendent's Executive Cabinet and oversaw the $1.1 annual billion budget. He was also responsible for coordinating the $300 million federal stimulus budget and subsequent monitoring systems for the school district.
Prior to his work in the education sector, Pritchard held positions with banking institutions including an industrial loan company in Las Vegas, Nevada as the acting Chief Financial Officer and the Vice President of Finance/Controller, and with Evans Bancorp, Inc. as the Assistance Vice President/Assistant Controller. He also worked for HealthNow New York as Finance Process & Technology Analyst and at Deloitte – Buffalo, as a Senior Auditor. Pritchard is a Certified Public Accountant and holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, with concentrations in Accounting and Finance, from the State University of New York at Buffalo.
