The Oishei Foundation has been a partner and supporter of the Jericho Road Community Health Center from the earliest days of the health center’s existence. The Foundation helped the nascent medical clinic receive its Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) status by funding a consultant to guide the organization through the process and helping them meet and document a stringent set of requirements.
The FQHC designation allows Jericho Road to receive funds from the HRSA Health Center Program to provide primary care services in underserved areas. Since that time, Jericho Road has grown significantly with three health centers and a myriad of community programs, providing greater access to healthcare for many in need communities. Oishei has assisted in providing operations support, assisting in the integration of nonprofit Vive La Casa into Jericho Road to better serve asylees arriving in Buffalo, and in expanding access to healthcare on Buffalo’s East side, most notably for the opening of their newest clinic in the Broadway Fillmore neighborhood.
